How this started
OneCall began with our founder, Samsul — an international student who spent his first year in Melbourne making expensive mistakes. Sixty job applications on Seek and nothing back. A friend who bought a car with six thousand dollars still owing on it. A finance rejection nobody bothered to explain.
Since then he's worked plenty of jobs here — every one through an interview, none through a connection — and inspected, negotiated and walked away from more used cars than he can count.
People started asking him things. Then their friends started asking. At some point it stopped being favours and became a proper thing, so it got a name — and now it's a small team helping students the same way.
How we make money
Partner businesses pay us a referral fee when someone we introduce goes ahead with them: dealers, licensed finance brokers, training providers, lawyers. You don't pay extra because of it, and the price you're quoted is the price you'd get anyway.
We tell you up front because you'd find out eventually, and it's better you hear it from us. It also means you should ask us questions like you'd ask anyone with a stake in the outcome. We'd rather earn your trust than assume it.
What we're not: a car dealer, a licensed credit provider, a training organisation, a lawyer or a migration agent. We're the independent bit in the middle, the people who work out which one you actually need and make the introduction.
You come to us once — we connect you to the right dealer, broker or training provider.
The community
Most of what we do is free. There's a WhatsApp community where we post the things nobody tells you — traffic fine rules, rental traps, which lenders actually approve students, when the census is on. No selling, no spam. Join it whether or not you ever need us for anything.
